 *broke is a multidisciplinary arts event that has taken place in Peterborough, NH three times since its inception in 2008. The *broke philosophy is simple: art is for everybody. All *broke events are free to the public, and *broke vendors commit to presenting at least 75% of their wares for less than $50. The exhibition at the Daniels Room at the Hancock Public Library will showcase
Kimberly Kersey Asbury’ s figurative work with highlights taken from various
series. Subjects include safari-goers in Africa, recent portraits of her children and
large-scale figurative examples from her Room Series.

The show opens to the public Monday, April 4th, running through Wednesday,
May 12th. An artist reception will be held Saturday, April 30th, 11am-1pm.

Bio:
Kimberly Kersey Asbury is an artist with many interests, ranging from drawing and painting from life to working with mixed media, wax clay, book forms, installation, photography and printmaking. She is Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and is currently teaching
painting and printmaking. Kersey Asbury received a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, an MFA in Painting, Boston University College of Fine Arts and attended The Graduate Institute at Saint John’ s College as well as the Vermont Studio Center. She received a Fulbright Research Grant for painting in Botswana in 1998. She has shown in New Hampshire, Boston, NYC, Morocco, Botswana and the Mid-West. She resides in Greenfield, NH with her husband and two children.

CHANGE OF DATE!

The 3rd Workshop (moved to Tuesday, December 7th @4-6pm) will focus on Sketching from Life and will include a Model. This will be co-run by Will Suglia and Lauren Miller.

 

Back by popular demand, we will have a number of printmaking, sewing, screenprinting and image transfer stations set up for one last chance for those of you who haven't tried your hand as of yet!

It's just around lunch time, so we'll have some refreshments on hand and it'd be great if anyone would like to bring additional snacks, drinks, tunes.
